We began by brainstorming types of violence and causes of violence. After listing and discussing those, we looked at the spiral of violence and how it perpetuates itself. The last half of the class was spent discussing the issues and themes raised in Bowling for Columbine. Homework for Wednesday, April 4, is 2-3 paragraphs on one of the people listed on the People of Peace assignment sheet; homework for Tuesday, April 17, is the Peace Packet.
